Australian Intermediate Math Olympiad (AIMO) September 12th Thursday 2024

The AIMO is the first step in Australia’s qualifier for the International Math Olympiad team.

We are the first school of our kind in NSW to make the distinguished achievers list, our students as a whole out achieve every other School in Australia in this contest, many of which are selected for the national training camp. More details and info through the link below. We are also an official testing centre for the AIMO.

2023 Tournament of Towns Fall, October 15, 29

2022 Senior A: 1st in Australia, Junior A: 1st in Australia (possibly the world),

Senior O:1st in Australia, Junior O: 1st in Australia

2020 Fall: Senior O 1st, Senior A 2nd,  Junior A 2nd, Junior O 1st, 1st, 1st (3 equal firsts out of 4). Found and funded venue for event.

2019 Fall Results: Junior A-level, 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, 6th place, 24th and 40th in NSW. (Highest achievement in NSW for year 10 maths contests)(The lower rankings are usually the result of year 8 students competing with year 10 students but one of our year 8 students achieved 2nd overall).

I really like the tournament of towns because it gives students a chance to represent themselves in an international contest and the problems are usually very fun and interesting. Results comparable to students from most major countries.

International Maths Olympiad (IMO)

July 16-17 2024

2024 Honourable Mention 710 700 (1 off Bronze, only male NSW representative)

2021 Silver Medal 700 770 (first attempt, only NSW representative)

Australian Maths Competition (AMC)

2024 August 7th Wednesday

Not part of the olympiad calendar but many schools use it as a screening process for the AIMO. This policy is very naive and does not lead to desired educational outcomes.

We host this exam for fun for students in Sydney and Melbourne. (We also do KSF earlier in the year, which is also fun).
